DPM Server provide backup solution by there ways :
1. Disk to Disk :- It means copying of backup from one computer to disk of another computer.This type of backup is very fast.
2. Disk to Tape :- Copying of backup data from one computer to tape media. It provide archival solution for backup.
3. Disk to Disk to Tape :- This type of backup provide two ways of protection data recovery will be very fast as disk is there and benifit of archival solution for data as tape is there.
DPM 2007 is a server-based application that enables disk-based and tape-based data protection and recovery for computers in and across Active Directory domains
