Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2007 includes DPM Administrator Console, a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in that serves as the central management tool for DPM. DPM Administrator Console enables you to configure data protection, recover protected data, monitor protection activities, and generate reports about DPM operations.
Task Areas and Display Panes
1. Display pane. Lists items associated with the current task. For example, the display pane for the Protection task area displays the names of protection groups and lists the members of those groups. The display pane for some task areas is subdivided into tabs that group subsets of functionality.
2. Details pane. Provides details, such as properties and status information, about items selected in the display pane.
3. Actions pane. Provides access to functionality associated with the current task
DPM 2007 is a server-based application that enables disk-based and tape-based data protection and recovery for computers in and across Active Directory domains
